Nintendo GameCube

The Nintendo GameCube (ニンテンドーゲームキューブ Nintendō Gēmukyūbu?), officially abbreviated to NGC and GCN in North America, is a video game console released by Nintendo on September 15, 2001 in Japan, November 18, 2001 in North America, May 3, 2002 in Europe, and May 17, 2002 in Australia. It was the successor to the Nintendo 64. As part of the sixth generation of gaming, the Nintendo GameCube competed with the Sega Dreamcast (which ceased production before the GameCube launched), Sony's PlayStation 2, and Microsoft's Xbox.

The Nintendo GameCube was the first Nintendo home console to use optical discs as its primary storage medium, after several aborted projects from Nintendo and its partners to utilize optical-based storage media. In contrast with the GameCube's contemporary competitors, the PlayStation 2 and Xbox, the GameCube uses miniDVD-based discs instead of full-size DVDs. Partially as a result of this, it does not have the DVD-Video playback functionality of the PlayStation 2 and Xbox systems, nor the audio CD playback ability of other consoles that use full-size optical discs. Panasonic eventually released a DVD player hybrid of the console exclusively in Japan, the Panasonic Q.

Dolphin v4.0.2 / 4.6mb / Rated: 8.5/10 / DOWNLOAD: WIN - WIN64 - v4.0 MAC - LIN64

Dolphin is by far the most advanced GC and Wii emu and its available on Windows and MAC, though keep in mind Dolphin requires a better than average PC to even run. Dual Core @ 2.6GHz and 2GB RAM with 1GB Graphics are reccomended. For more info please see here.

SuperGCube v0.4a r0110 / 1.4mb / Rated: 8.0/10 / DOWNLOAD: WIN

SuperGCube is an updated version of the discontinued GCube, which is considered a very good GC emu, untested myself but there are some would argue its better than dolphin!!! So give it a try and let me know what you think.

Dolwin v0.10 / 831kb / Rated: 5.0/10 / DOWNLOAD: WIN

Although Dolwin was the first GC emu to be released, it was very slow and many games dont work, coupled with the fact it has not been updated in 8 years, this isnt the choice for you, go for Dolphin.

WhineCube r7 / 483kb / Rated: 5.0/10 / DOWNLOAD: WIN

Much the same as Dolwin, except based more on GC homebrew, its fast with homebrews but not so much with commercial games.

GCEmu 20051211 / 3.0mb / Rated: 4.5/10 / DOWNLOAD: WIN

Again, poor speed, poor compatibility, its really only here for show!
